In the increasingly batshit world of private rental in the UK, for too long the balance has been tipped in favour of landlords. Tenants are left fighting to keep a roof over their heads, having to scrimp and save to make rent, and having to go through extensive and invasive identity checks just for the pleasure of paying an extortionate amount of their hard earned cash towards someone else's mortgage every month. Worse than this, private tenants are routinely faced with the indiginity of extortionate rent hikes, no fault evictions with little or no notice, or worse, sexual or mental harrassment, invasion of personal privacy or outright violence. In the majority of cases, we're left with no choice but to swallow these indignities and move on, as there is currently no public body tasked with regulating this most fundamental of "markets". Enough. Relying on the journalistic principles of freedom of expression and the public's right to receive information, this website has been set-up to provide an anonymous space for members of the public to share information on "Bad Landlords". We will then do our best to verify the information, before uploading and sharing as much or as little of the information as we feel we're able to without getting sued or shut down.This website should be seen as a vital and free-to-access, public resource, sharing information with private renters, enabling them to rent accomodation safely and securely, from reputable sources.
